Who we are
Our website address is: https://www.awesomememorabilia.com. Awesome Memorabilia publishes buying guides and care advice for sports memorabilia collectors.
Affiliate disclosure
Awesome Memorabilia is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. We may add other affiliate or partner programs in the future, and any post containing an affiliate link carries a disclosure near the top of that page as well.
Advertising
We do not currently run display advertising on this site. If we add an advertising network in the future, this policy will be updated to name the network and describe what data it collects before those ads go live.
Analytics and tracking technologies
We may use analytics and tag-management tools such as Google Analytics (GA4), Google Tag Manager, and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use this site: which pages get read, how people navigate the site, and general traffic patterns. These tools can use cookies, similar tracking technologies, and your IP address to generate that reporting. Microsoft Clarity may also record anonymized session behavior (like scrolling and clicks) to help us see how the site is actually used.
None of these tools are used to identify you personally, and we don’t sell the data they collect. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using Google’s browser add-on, and you can control cookies generally through your browser’s privacy settings.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so you don’t have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies last one year.
If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we also set cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last two days, and screen option cookies last a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login persists for two weeks. Logging out removes the login cookies.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is saved in your browser. It includes no personal data, only the post ID of the article just edited, and expires after 1 day.
Analytics and tag-management tools listed above may also set their own cookies, described in the “Analytics and tracking technologies” section.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comment form, plus the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string, to help with spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it. The Gravatar privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible publicly next to your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the site, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the site can download and extract location data from images on the site.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (videos, images, articles, and similar). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you had visited that other website directly.
Those websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you’re logged into an account on that site.
Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address is included in the reset email. Analytics and tag-management vendors named above receive the data described in that section as part of providing their service to us. We don’t sell personal data to third parties.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely, so we can recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users who register on our site (if any), we also store the personal information in their user profile. Users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except their username). Site administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including anything you’ve provided to us. You can also request that we erase personal data we hold about you, except data we’re obligated to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Children’s privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we’ll remove it.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam-detection service.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page when what we actually collect changes, for example when an analytics tool, ad network, or new affiliate program goes live. Check the “last updated” date at the top of this page.
Contact us
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent through our contact page, once one is live, or directly to the site owner.
